Spring Brunches Return to the Institute

There is something special about gathering around a table as the seasons change. This spring, brunches are back at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, and we hope you will join us for good food, meaningful conversation, and thoughtful seasonal programs that connect land, learning, and community. Each brunch features two seatings at 11:15 am and 1:00 pm, with a special program from 12:15 to 1:00 pm (programs are free and open to the public). Guests are always welcome to explore the Institute and enjoy the current art exhibits while they are here.

March 8: March Brunch & Bees

Our spring series begins with a nod to pollinators and possibility. Executive Director Virginia Bolshakova will share a special program exploring the intimate relationship between humans and bees, connecting ecology, flavor, and stewardship.

The menu carries a festive Irish flair, with carved corned beef brisket, made to order omelets, traditional Irish boxty, steak and potato pie, vegetable stew topped with puff pastry, honey glazed carrots and parsnips, and a beautiful spread of salads and desserts including vegan devil’s food cake and Irish apple cake.

Guests may also view the current art exhibit by Chelsea Bivens.

April 12: Spring Brunch & Land Conservancy Program

April’s brunch celebrates the landscapes that sustain us. Guests will enjoy seasonal menu selections and a program by Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy, highlighting their work and an exciting new project right here in Barry County. The program is free and open to the public, even if you are not attending brunch.

The menu features pork tenderloin medallions, maple glazed chicken, plant based maple chicken, cheesy asparagus risotto, sticky buns, fresh fruit with mint, green bean Caesar salad, and a sweet finish of spring cheesecake and carrot cake bars.

The art exhibit by Chelsea Bivens will also be on display.

May 10: Mother’s Day Brunch with Storytelling

Celebrate Mother’s Day surrounded by nature, nourishment, and story. This special brunch includes storytelling by Robin Nott, creating a meaningful way to honor mothers and the generations that shape us. The program is free and open to the public.

The seasonal menu includes carved brisket, made to order omelets, French toast casserole, strawberry mint chicken and plant based strawberry chicken, roasted potatoes with warm blue cheese sauce, fresh fruit salads, and desserts like orange creamsicle cheesecake and chickpea blondies.

Guests may also enjoy the current exhibit by Chris Cooper Thompson while visiting.

Spring brunches at the Institute are more than a meal. They are an invitation to slow down, gather with friends and family, and celebrate the season together. We would love to see you at the table.
