Nature In Words

Reflections of the Natural World
The Nature in Words Fellowship is a new and exciting opportunity being offered at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute during the summer of 2011. Modeled after the Gordon Art Fellowship, it provides an undergraduate student a unique opportunity to nurture and cultivate his or her writing abilities while living within the beauty of the Institute's natural setting. The goal of the fellowship is to develop the writer’s creativity by deepening their appreciation of nature and the sciences. The student, along with a faculty mentor, will propose a project that will culminate in a complete written body of work. This program is open to full-time students who have not yet completed their requirements for graduation and who are currently attending one of the consortium educational institutions. The fellowship will be awarded based on the quality of the proposal. It will include a $3,500 stipend, on-site housing and partial meal support for the 10-12 week (full-time) project.
