Volunteers Loading Branches Into A TruckAs a small organization, we rely on volunteers to help us with daily activities and special events. Whether you would like to volunteer on a regular basis or at special events, we can work with you to find an opportunity that suits your interests. Specific details concerning projects and positions will be given by the staff member responsible for the endeavor. Any applicable training will be provided by the Institute, and staff members are always available to help and answer questions. Volunteers will receive various benefits in return for their time spent at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute. All volunteers will receive a free subscription to Naturally Speaking newsletter and free or discounted admission (with volunteer card) to programming (some restrictions apply, details will be given at training). Volunteering at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute will give you the wonderful opportunity to meet new people and attend and participate in educational programs; all with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference.

  1. Facility Rental/Group Visit/Brunch: Assist with kitchen prep, set-up, and guest services.

Facility Rental/Group Visit/Brunch Positions:

Cash Register Operator

Tasks: Operate cash register, take brunch fees and complete gift shop purchases.
Hours and Times: Expected to be at Institute 30 minutes before brunch.
Qualifications: Basic math skills, and out-going personality, training on cash register required (training provided at Institute).

Greeter

Tasks: Welcome guests and give directions to dining area and program location.
Hours and Times: Expected to be at Institute 30 minutes before the brunch begins.
Qualifications: Cheerful and out-going personality, comfortable talking with the public

Kitchen-Prep

Tasks: Assist chef with meal preparation.
Hours and Times: Variable will be contacted by e-mail or phone several days before the event about the schedule.
Qualifications: Takes directions well, familiarity with food prep and kitchen safety a plus, will be trained in kitchen preparation by staff.

Server

Tasks: Make sure clean dishes and silverware, beverages, and condiments, etc are available to guests, clear tables of used plates, etc.
Hours and Times: Expected to be at Institute 45 minutes before event.
Qualifications: Friendly and outgoing.

Kitchen-Dishwasher

Tasks: Run automatic dishwasher and put away clean dishes.
Hours and Times: Expected to be at Institute 30 minutes before brunch and stay for one hour after brunch.
Qualifications: Takes directions well, self-motivated.
